Kidney Disease & Tumor Care in Sherman Oaks, CA

Experienced In-Home Caregivers for Elders

The kidneys are essential for filtering unwanted waste from the blood stream and some other functions such as hormone production and regulating electrolytes. When the kidneys aren’t able to perform their regulatory functions it is known as Chronic Kidney Disease or Renal Disease. The disease is generally without symptoms until the advanced stage of the disease where the kidney is nearing failure. Individuals in End Stage Renal Disease may experience a loss of appetite or feelings of being generally sick. Although there’s no way to cure chronic kidney disease, it is possible to slow the progression if the disease is caught at an early enough stage. The disease is usually identified when an individual is screened for other pre-existing medical conditions such as high blood pressure or Diabetes.

If you have an Elderly or Senior loved one with Chronic Kidney Disease, A-1 Home Care provides Kidney Disease Care on a 24 hour Live-In Care or Hourly Care basis. It can be difficult performing tasks of daily living when your loved one is feeling generally unwell, especially when they must worry about controlling blood pressure or blood sugar levels as well.

If your loved one has just undergone kidney transplant surgery or kidney tumor removal surgery, our Kidney Tumor caregivers can provide immediate in-home living assistance to help your loved one recover and ensure that their incision wound heals properly.

All of our Kidney Disease & Tumor caregivers, nurse aides, companions, and home helpers must have at least 2 years of prior at home caregiving experience, verifiable professional references, a National Background Check/DMV Check, Tuberculosis testing, Malpractice/Liability insurance, First Aid/CPR training, and a personal interview with our office staff.

Caregivers Keep us Seniors Safe and Happy this Fall Season

It’s starting to get cold now that we’ve reached November. If the home is not properly insulated, then not only does heat escape, but it also drives the heating costs up to stay warm..
